Fun game, was only a tiny bit annoying when my guy wouldn't align with the rocks and stuff to move between them. I'll be sure to come back to try new game plus later!

I gotta echo everybody else that this game is very fun and could be really addicting, but the amount of enemies on-screen causes severe lag and it makes everything way too tedious. Even turning off the effects doesn't mitigate the lag very much.
Edit: If you guys want to do well, circle around the enemies with a slowdown or freezing powerup and wail at them with your bullets. Once you max out enemy slowdown, you'll literally dance around them like they're nothing (but be careful not to get trapped).
Edit 2: It crashed 19 minutes in on a really good run, so it's not particularly stable. Try the Steam version like the author recommended.
I am aware of the lag issues in the web version and am working on a fix this week! In the meanwhile, I recommend checking the game out on Steam (where it is also available for free) as the performance is much better there at the moment.
Yeah, this game is as amazing and expansive as I remember. I can't believe it's still playable here after all these years. There's a lot of content in here for a flash game with so much to collect and unlock. Mind you, it isn't perfect as it seems as the controls are a little slippery and it takes a lot to run smoothly thanks to Flash being bloated and having so many sprites on screen at once. The dialogue is rife with spelling errors as well, but some of the jokes can be charming. Despite that, it's still a must play for any Mario fan as there's so much content and a level editor to mess with endlessly. I highly recommend finding a program to map your controller to the keyboard to make it more suitable to play (up to jump for a platformer is just awkward). Give it a try!
